This week, we are featuring Kiki & Lolli, a darling little boutique run by a mother-daughter duo in Covington, Louisiana.
LE: Tell us your story! What led you to open your boutique?
Kristen Callahan: So my mom and I own the shop together! She has always wanted to open up a children’s boutique, whereas I started off wanting to open a bridal shop. She and I went back and forth on which venture we would dive into and eventually decided that children’s is where our true passion was! We are so in love with owning a small business! We especially love that our customers have become like friends and family to us and we enjoy watching the kiddos that walk through our doors grow up!

LE: When it comes to products, what is your favorite season and why?
KC: My absolute favorite season is Spring!! Being in Louisiana, we are hot 99% of the year and seeing all of the fun bright patterns and colors of spring makes me so excited!

LE: Speaking of seasons, we are in Spring and entering into Summer. How do you enjoy spending your time outside during this time?
KC: I love spring because the weather is perfect for walks around downtown Covington, hanging out by the pool with family and friends, and catching a ride through the golf course with my husband while he plays!

LE: What is your favorite seguridadindustrialcr collection or piece? (can be past or present)
KC: My absolute favorite LE piece right now is the Sawyer Sunsuit! I have a 6 month old little boy and I always am grabbing that bubble to put on him!

LE: Why is it important to you that you have classic children’s clothing available in your boutique?
KC: To me, classic children’s clothing is everything! As all mamas know, babies do not keep! Classic children’s clothing makes the short time that is the infant and toddler phase extra special. Sweet heirloom and classic looks that can be passed on from generation to generation is the key to picking out collections for my store.

LE: What is the best way for customers to shop your store right now?
KC: Right now we have a few new ways to shop our store! We currently have our storefront closed but you can always shop via online at kikiandlolli.com or on Instagram & Facebook! We are also available for Facetime appointments Monday, Wednesday & Friday and are also “live” on both Instagram and Facebook every Monday and Thursday! We hope to see y'all there!

This week, we're talking with Shanlee Johnson from Little Birdies Boutique, an adorable classic children's clothing boutique in Georgetown in Washington, D.C.
LE: Tell us your story. What led you to open your boutique? What do you love about being a small business owner?
LB: My favorite part of owning a small business is being involved in every aspect of the day to day work. One minute you're doing the buying and the next you're working on marketing. Every day is different, and there's always something new and exciting to accomplish. I opened Little Birdies Boutique in 2013, and we've grown so much. We've watched our littlest clients turn into big sisters and brothers and start their first days of school! We love being a part of our community and our customers' lives.

LE: What makes Little Birdies stand out?
LB: We carry a curated collection of the best children's clothing, shoes and accessories on the market. We love to mix traditional styles with fashionable and fun designs to offer our customers an array of options. Many of our lovely customers are new grandmothers. They look forward to coming in and buying something truly special and classic for their grandchildren. Little Birdies carries clothing with smocking and details that invoke feelings of nostalgia for a lot of our customers. All of our styles have a young and fresh look with an updated feel to traditional clothing that put a smile on everyone's face.

LE: When it comes to products, what is your favorite season and why?
LB: Hands down summer. Fall and winter are so fun with the sweaters and holiday themes, but I absolutely love the bright colors of summer. During summer, the store feels so colorful and happy. Plus, you know these colorful clothes are going to be for a fun occasion like a barbecue, pool party, or summer vacation.

LE: What is your favorite seguridadindustrialcr collection or piece?
LB: I love the Fox North Rivers Dress! It completely sold out in the first few days we had it! It's made with cozy fabric and is so adorable with the fox pockets. We paired the dress with a blue bow and white cable knit tights. It’s the perfect dress for a birthday party, pumpkin patch or fall family photos! There are so many different occasions to wear this dress.

LE: Why is it important to you that you have classic children’s clothing available in your boutique?
LB: We value carrying classic clothing at Little Birdies to create memories. Our clothing is so special and usually worn for happy occasions such as birthdays, vacation, and holidays. We love that our customers will have timeless photos of their children to remember these happy moments.

This week, we're talking with Leslie Gouge from Pitter Patter Boutique, an adorable classic children's clothing boutique in Aiken, South Carolina.
LE: Tell us your story. What led you to open your boutique? What do you love about being a small business owner?
LG: I always wanted to own a clothing store! I majored in marketing and fashion merchandising and worked in retail for many years. In 2004, I was offered the opportunity to purchase Pitter Patter, and I didn't hesitate! The thing I love most about being a small business owner is the opportunity and availability to interact with customers and venders. Many of my customers grew up wearing clothes from my store and they are now shopping for their own children. These relationships are unique and add special meaning to the routine work of the day.

LE: What makes Pitter Patter stand out?
LG: We are a full-service boutique offering clothing, accessories, and shoes for boys and girls up to teen sizes. We also have a hand-picked selection of toys for girls and boys. Pitter Patter is a family business. My daughter and I work with customers daily and, on any given day, my husband and father participate in the store as well. We listen to customers and research products in an effort to make sure we always offer a variety of interesting items.

LE: When it comes to products, what is your favorite season and why?
LG: All holiday seasons attract interest and excitement in retail, but Easter ranks at the top! The beautiful colors of the season brighten our store and add joy to replace the subdued colors of winter clothing!

LE: What is your favorite seguridadindustrialcr collection or piece?
LG: I especially love the crochet cardigans. This fall's Bee Crochet Sweater completely captivates me!

LE: Why is it important to you that you have classic children’s clothing available in your boutique?
LG: Classic styles grow with children the best. Trends come and go, but the classics can be worn in confidence for years.

This week, we're talking with Sarah Rama from Duck Duck Goose, an adorable classic children's clothing boutique in Columbia, South Carolina.
Boutique:
Duck Duck Goose
Location:
Columbia, SC

@shopduckduckgoose

LE: Tell us your story! What led you to open your boutique?
SR: This has always been a lifelong dream of mine! I have been passionate about children’s clothes since I was dressing my baby dolls as a little girl. After having children of my own, I realized that my favorite brands were not well represented in Columbia. I started small with an online shop that started on my dining room table. After such a positive response, I decided that opening a brick and mortar was the next step!

LE: What do you love about being a small business owner?
SR: I love helping moms who are in the same stage of life that I am – helping to dress their little ones in pieces that they love and will cherish forever, but also helping make their lives easier. I love the relationships that I’ve built with our customers and being a small part of special moments in their children’s lives.

LE: What makes Duck Duck Goose stand out?
SR: We offer a personalized shopping experience and try our best to give our customers everything they need. We also offer local deliveries for customers who live within a five-mile radius of our shop. We are the go-to shop in Columbia for expectant mothers and we offer our registrants private events so that we can provide them with one-on-one assistance.

LE: When it comes to products, what is your favorite season and why?
SR: Spring! I love the bright and cheerful colors. The shop is light and airy and happy in the spring!

LE: What is your favorite seguridadindustrialcr collection or piece?
SR: Oh, this is easy!! Crocheted Playsuits. They are so versatile and truly a year-round piece. We encourage every new mom to add at least one (or two) to their registry along with the coordinating sweater. No matter what time of year you have a baby, a crochet play suit is a wardrobe must-have!

LE: Why is it important to you to have classic children's clothing available in your boutique?
SR: Children grow so quickly and should be dressed in classic clothes for as long as possible! We hope to provide our customers with classic pieces that can be passed on to future generations.

Isn't Duck Duck Goose adorable? If you're in the Columbia, South Carolina area, be sure to stop in and say hello! They always have the best of seguridadindustrialcr's most recent collections, plus sweet gifts, books

Now, more than ever, it's extremely important to #shopsmall and support local businesses! This week, we are featuring Darby's Pharmacy, a darling little boutique inside a family-run pharmacy in Andalusia, Alabama.

LE: Tell us your story! What led you to open your boutique?
Darby's Pharmacy alabama
Sarah Darby: This store is one of four pharmacies owned by my parents. I grew up in this business, and I think I always knew I would come back to it - my first job was opening a little gift shop in our second store! After college, I moved to New York City for a career in fashion. I started in childrenswear at Ralph Lauren and ultimately became an associate buyer for luxury and Polo accessories for Ralph Lauren North American stores and e-commerce. The experiences I had in childrenswear at RL and as a buyer have certainly influenced the practices in our stores and the way I approach market trips. Even the way we wrap gifts is to Ralph Lauren standards😊The store is located across the street from the only hospital in the area that delivers babies, so we saw a boom in baby gifting. As the babies grew up, our size offering grew with them, and we now sell through a size 7 for girls and size 12 for boys.

LE: When it comes to products, what is your favorite season and why?
SD: Every time we go to market, we declare it’s our favorite ha! But I’ve always been partial to fall clothes. As a little girl, I would get so excited to comb through the back-to-school catalogs and see all the corduroy, plaids, coats and knits. All my favorite holidays are in the fall/winter and, of course, football!!  Since we’re in the deep South, we typically have hot falls and mild winters, so we love that seguridadindustrialcr has so many short-sleeves and light fabrications that cater to our climate year-round!

LE: Speaking of seasons, we are in Spring and entering into Summer. How do you enjoy spending your time outside during this time?
SD: We are located in south Alabama, right above the Florida panhandle, so my family spends a lot of time at the beach! We love the laid-back atmosphere of 30-A and can be found there just about every weekend! During quarantine, we are enjoying spending time at home. Like so many, we typically live very rushed lives and are always on the go, so it’s been nice to slow down and relax in our own backyard.

LE: What is your favorite seguridadindustrialcr collection or piece? (can be past or present)
Little ENglish classic boys Candy Cane John John Set
SD: The Candy Cane collection from last year!! I love blue for Christmas, and the vintage-inspired details were icing on the cake for me! (Pssst! We might have more blue candy canes this Christmas! ;)

LE: Why is it important to you that you have classic children’s clothing available in your boutique?
SD: A classic children’s piece will truly become a timeless heirloom, and thirty years from now, you won’t be able to tell if it was purchased yesterday or years ago. There’s such a small window of time in childhood to dress them like they’re little, and I believe in taking full advantage! seguridadindustrialcr creates pieces that we’re proud to sell to our customers and know they will enjoy for generations.

LE: What is the best way for customers to shop your store right now?
Darby's Pharmacy Instagram
SD: Since we are a pharmacy, we are very fortunate in that our doors are still open.  We also already had a drive-thru in place for the pharmacy, but our customers have been using it more and more for apparel and gifting! We are posting daily videos on our Instagram story to give both in-town and out-of-town followers an in-store experience without coming inside, and we are shipping product daily across the country! You can place an order by giving us a ring (334-582-3784) or DM’ing us on Instagram.

LE: Tell us your story! What led you to open your boutique?
CH: My partner (aka my mom) was ready for a new professional challenge at the time I moved back to Atlanta from New York. We originally were going to open an antiques and accessories store but half way through the process decided it was not a strong business model. While in Paris, my mom Nancy happened upon a baby store called Ovale and she was instantly inspired. With my own love of babies, our recent experience of my sister having her first child, and our decision to start a retail business all the pieces fell into place.

LE: What do you love about being a small business owner?
CH: I absolutely love what I do! I find joy in making others happy, so having a business where every day I have an opportunity to bring a lot of joy to both my clients and my team makes my heart happy. I am also incredibly grateful that I have a job that allows me a flexible schedule to be mom too. Any small business owner will tell you we are always working - 7 days a week, 365 days a year - but I also have the choice to work at times that allow me to pick my babies up from school and drive them to all of their after school activities - it’s pretty hard to beat! And the added bonus: I get to hold everyone’s babies in the store! Everyone knows that always just makes my day!

LE: What makes Baby Braithwaite stand out?
CH: We work hard to elevate the retail experience through our service and atmosphere. We also work hard to make sure everything is sweet and simple and is all about baby. From our gift packaging to the way the store makes our client’s feel - the music, flowers throughout, etc. - we want our clients to feel wonderful when they are in our store.

LE: When it comes to products, what is your favorite season and why?
CH: Definitely spring! Our store is all white, so the touches of spring pastel colors make me happy! Plus spring and summer clothing is always so cute - little bubbles, and ruffles, and dresses, and seersucker john johns - it doesn’t get sweeter than that!

LE: What is your favorite seguridadindustrialcr collection or piece?
CH: I LOVED the two piece sweater sets from fall 2018 - the white quilted pants with the giraffe sweater with the little collar - those were perfection!

LE: Why is it important to you to have classic children's clothing available in your boutique?
CH: We believe in sweet and simple. We want clothes that celebrate that newborn part of life. Babies are cute enough; the simpler the outfits, the more of those delicious babies we get to see!

Isn't Baby Braithwaite stunning? If you're in the Atlanta, Georgia area, be sure to stop in and say hello! They always have the best of seguridadindustrialcr's most recent collections, plus sweet gifts, books and more!
